While we’re still riding the wave of our 2026 sailing week, preparations for next year are already well underway behind the scenes. Today we have some big news to share:
1. We have a new chairman
We are delighted to introduce Harry Weidacher as the new chairman of Kids for Freedom! Harry has been part of our team since 2024 and has since made a name for himself in the regatta scene in Turkey. With his experience on the water and his local connections, he brings exactly what K4F needs for the years ahead. Welcome to your new role, Harry!
2. Thank you, Berni! ❤️
Harry takes over from our founder Berni Blaha. Without Berni, there would be no Kids for Freedom: he brought to life the idea of children from very different countries and life situations spending a week together sailing, laughing and making friends. For many years, he has shaped the association with tireless dedication. For all of this, we say from the bottom of our hearts: Thank you, Berni!
3. Save the date: K4F celebrates its 20th sailing week! 🎉
Grab your calendars, because 2027 will be a very special year: Kids for Freedom sets sail for the 20th time! Our anniversary sailing week takes place from 📅 10 to 17 July 2027. Twenty years of sunshine, sea, music and friendships across all borders – and we can’t wait to celebrate this milestone together with the children out on the water.
If you’d like to support us, you’ll find all the details under Support us.
We’re looking forward to everything that lies ahead!
